Pre-announcement: Final Conference ERA-MIN 3
As the ERA-MIN 3 funding programme approaches its planned conclusion, the pan-European initiative dedicated to advancing research and innovation in raw materials pre-announces its Final Conference, to be held on 23 and 24 June 2026. This end event will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and funding stakeholders to reflect on achievements, exchange insights, and look ahead at future challenges for the raw materials sector.
Launched in December 2020 with support from the European Commission under Horizon 2020, ERA-MIN 3 (Raw Materials for the Sustainable Development and the Circular Economy) builds on the success of the previous ERA-MIN and ERA-MIN 2 networks, aiming to enhance coordination of transnational research funding across the raw materials value chain.
Over the course of the programme, ERA-MIN 3 has supported a substantial portfolio of transnational research and innovation projects. Across its joint calls, ERA-MIN 3 has contributed to a total of 31 funded R&I projects, including 22 projects funded through the ERA-MIN 3 Joint Transnational Call 2021 and 9 projects funded through the Joint Call 2023.
These projects span a wide range of thematic areas essential to strengthening Europe’s raw materials ecosystem and advancing a sustainable, circular economy:
- Raw materials exploration and mining
- Processing technologies and production improvements
- Circular economy solutions and recycling
- Environmental assessment and climate sustainability
- Social sustainability, including health, safety, and public perception
The ERA-MIN 3 Final Conference will showcase the scientific and societal impact of these research activities, highlight best practices and innovative outcomes, and foster dialogue on future collaboration frameworks.
Further details about the programme, speakers, and registration will be shared in the coming weeks.
